Public space
Well designed and managed public or semi-public green spaces are of immense value to our society. The ecosystem services that they provide are of increasing value in an urbanised world. Examples include temperature regulation, air purification, CO2 sequestration and water infiltration, these services have an indirect positive effect on human wellbeing. As a bio-engineer in land management, I like to contribute to well designed public and semi-public spaces that take into account today's changing climate and environmental conditions. It goes without saying that the maximum integration and utilisation of the possible ecosystem services is obvious.
